After spending 16 years in the one practice, Adrian joined the Wheelhouse team at the start of the pandemic. His long-term skills and expertise in Business Advisory and Tax meant that he was able to service clients from the get-go. He is hardworking, meticulous, and extremely kind and patient with whoever he deals with. When not pushing through work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and little boy.

Alycia joined the Wheelhouse team in May 2024 as a Client Services Coordinator.

Alycia comes with a strong background in administration, whilst also studying her Certificate 4 in Bookkeeping and Accounting.

Alycia works closely alongside director James Plant providing full admin support to James and his team.

Outside of work, Alycia loves to attend AFL and NRL games and spending time in the sunshine with her friends and family.

Ankido has been with Wheelhouse since January 2020 and is currently completing his CA studies. Ankido is a valued member of our team, he is highly conscientious in his approach to his work and is always seeking to better himself in all aspects which translates to being of service. He works closely with Ayse Aslan on a wide range of industries including Property Development, Primary Production, and Advertising & Media. Outside of work, he enjoys playing soccer and keeping fit through both running and going to the gym.

With over 10 years extensive experience in both Private Sector and Public Practice, Ayse became a Partner in March 2018 and became the Managing Director of Wheelhouse. She is a natural leader who places the greatest importance in her staff, not just on their knowledge and experience, but on their genuine commitment to be of service to the clients. She is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Advisor and Registered Tax Agent and is an expert in all things tax. Her key areas of expertise are in Property Development, Construction, Professional Services, Real Estate, Farming Activities and Deceased Estates. She loves spending time with her young daughter (particularly at the Zoo).

Having studied business law and accounting, Bilal joined Wheelhouse in October 2022 after a year working as a Graduate Accountant with an insolvency practice. Already, Bilal has shown a strong dedication to the Wheelhouse Team and is excited to work alongside Matt with Crypto accounting! He is a passionate Collingwood supporter (aren’t they all!) and his favourite place to travel to is Japan. During the weekends Bilal enjoys relaxing and spending time with his extended family and wife. We are yet to find a chilli oil too spicy for him.

Charlotte joined Wheelhouse in November 2023, contributing her expertise gained from three years’ experience in public practice. 

Collaborating closely with Director James and Manager Paul, she is deeply committed to generating optimal solutions for our clients. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her friends and family.

Joining Wheelhouse in January 2023, Declan started his new role by jumping on board as a Junior Manager assisting Sean’s team. With 8 years of experience, Declan is a motivated certified Chartered Accountant with deep knowledge and experience in tax and business advisory . He is committed to working with our clients and helping them with the growth of their business. Declan is quite the handyman and spends his time renovating his home, by himself! When he takes a break from DIY activities, he likes to play golf, tennis and create travel videos of his adventures

Gemma has been with Wheelhouse since its establishment and is known as the backbone of the company. Gemma treats the company as her own and brings with that a deep commitment not only for the day-to-day operations, but also takes on the important role of keeping the Wheelhouse team supported in both their wellbeing and logistically. Outside of Wheelhouse, Gemma spends time with her family and even finds time to run her own weekly Bootcamp sessions as a qualified Personal Trainer.

Hugh joined Wheelhouse in October 2022 and comes to us having already been in public practice for just over 2 years after studying at Monash University. Hugh is a new and eager member to Wheelhouse, who is excited to get is hands on a wide range of projects that will develop his skill and challenge him. 

Hugh likes running with friends, going to the gym and playing social mixed netball. He also loves travelling, particularly around Asia. Hugh is a self proclaimed "long suffering St Kilda supporter"

James started at Wheelhouse in February 2024 having over 17 years’ experience with a strong taxation and business compliance background.

A full business allrounder and a Chartered Accountant, James loves to put his clients’ needs first and immerse himself within a business to get a full understanding and proactively help find the best solutions.

Away from work James is kept very busy at home with 3 daughters all while trying to keep up to date with all things sport related.

James is an original from the inception of Wheelhouse and has been a Partner since March 2018. Born and raised in Tassie, James moved to Melbourne in 2015 where he continued his accounting career. James is a highly supportive Director, Chartered Accountant and Registered Tax Agent. He is an expert in cash flow and forecast modelling and acts as a trusted Virtual CFO for many of his clients. His areas of expertise are in Property Development, Consulting, Retail, Sports & Entertainment and Earthmoving. Outside of work, he enjoys playing various sports and spending time with his wife and young son.

Jarrod joined Wheelhouse in July 2019 as a fresh Graduate and in that time has completed his Chartered Accountancy studies and recently became a full CAANZ member. Jarrod strives to form relationships with partners and clients, his clients love his excellent attention to detail, and he has fostered a mutual respect from his clientele. Outside of work, he values spending time with family and friends and is a big time Carlton supporter.

Jas joined Wheelhouse in August 2023 as a graduate, following the completion of his Commerce/Law degree. He is an ambitious and focused individual, aiming to develop his capabilities in all areas involving business and accounting.

Jas can work competently both autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary team and aims to begin his CA studies soon. Outside of work, Jas enjoys travelling and exploring new countries and lives an active lifestyle.

Josh joined the Wheelhouse team in April 2024 as an accountant, bringing with him over two years of experience in public practice.

Having recently graduated from his tertiary studies, Josh is looking to start his studies to become a Chartered Accountant.

​

A highly focused professional with great attention to detail, Josh has a great attitude and is ambitious to learn and grow. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends and is a huge Arsenal Fan.

Liza joined Wheelhouse in April 2022 as a Junior Accountant, she is very down to earth and shows a great commitment to her accounting career. Since her time at Wheelhouse, Liza has demonstrated a great passion for providing accurate results. She completed her degree in accounting and has begun her studies to become a CA. Very family focused, Liza brings a thoughtful approach to our clients.

Paul rejoined the Wheelhouse team in May 2024 after a 6-year absence with a wealth of knowledge.

Over an extensive and diverse career including senior profession and industry roles, Paul provides a pragmatic and commercial approach to his client's affairs.

​

 In his spare time, Paul enjoys an active lifestyle outdoors, making the most of the Bay and nearby hills.

Sean was appointed as a Partner in March 2018 and has been with Wheelhouse since its establishment. Sean is a Chartered Accountant and Registered Tax Agent. Expert in cash flow and forecast modelling, Sean acts as Virtual CFO for many clients and has a real passion of wanting to help every client’s needs, no matter how big or how small. His key areas of expertise are Construction, Real Estate, Media & Advertising and Aviation. He has 2 young daughters and a wife at home who he enjoys spending time with and loves anything sport, particularly footy (mad Essendon supporter) and horse racing. 

Tesha joined Wheelhouse in June 2023 in a Client Services /EA role. Tesha comes with a strong admin background in professional services in both Accounting and Finance industries.

She is friendly and eager to grow in her role, providing full admin and EA support to Sean Gavin and his team. Tesha’s idea of a perfect day outside work is to complete a 20 km trail and relax by the water sipping on red wine. 

Thalia is a new member to our team, welcomed in April 2022 as a Junior Accountant and having studied while working in an accounts department in the construction industry. Thalia brings excellent professionalism and a genuine hunger to learn and be a contributor in Wheelhouse. A friendly and eager member of the crew, she recently signed up to begin her CA studies and she is an accredited Xero Advisor.

Yasmin joined Wheelhouse in July 2018 as a Graduate Accountant having completed her tertiary studies prior to that. She quickly commenced her CA studies not long after and gained her CA accreditation in November 2021. Yasmin is outstanding in her ability to pick up knowledge and has extensive experience in tax advisory, forecasting, budgeting, and management accounting. She can speak 5 languages and loves getting into a karaoke room singing her heart out!

Whitney joined Wheelhouse as a Chartered Accountant in December 2023. She has over 10 years of experience in tax and business services advisory (including SMSF) and comes with a wealth of knowledge.

Whitney is friendly and easy going with a hardworking attitude who provides great support to all those around her.  She is committed to working with Ayse Aslan and her team, focusing on property development, constructions & real estate clients.

​

Outside work, she enjoys spending time with her family and her little boy.
